For years, creative project managers had nowhere to turn.
There were plenty of certifications for traditional project managers -- programs built around construction timelines, IT rollouts, and linear workflows. But for the people managing film productions, advertising campaigns, content teams, design studios, and media projects? Nothing. Just a pile of tools and frameworks that were never built for them in the first place.
That's the gap CPMA was built to close.
Founded in 2023, the Creative Project Management Academy was created by a team of industry veterans who had spent their careers managing creative projects at the highest levels -- across companies like Disney, Google, Snap Inc., Red Bull, Sony Pictures, Accenture, and Paramount Pictures. They knew firsthand how different creative work is from traditional project environments. The ambiguity, the iteration, the stakeholder dynamics, the constant tension between creative quality and deadline pressure. And they knew that the people navigating those challenges every day deserved training that actually spoke their language.
So they built it.
CPMA offers the only certification programs designed specifically for creative project managers and the creatives who manage projects alongside their craft.
